Day 15
Boom and we're in Laem Chabang Thailand. We decided that as we're in Thailand we would go to Bangkok, as one should. We grabbed a taxi but shared it with a couple of old ladies as it was pretty expensive. Our taxi driver Mr Steve took us all on a tour around the Bangkok area, stopping first at some river where we got on a little Thai looking boat and went to see Wat Po temple with the biggest golden Buddha in the world, and other beautiful temples/buildings, this was lovely. When I was climbing back into the little boat disaster happened! I slipped and hurt my leg nearly ending up in the drink. The damage is all the way down the bottom half of my right leg, but I didn't really cry and soldiered on.
Next Mr Steve drove us to various different shopping places to buy nice things, this cheered me somewhat. After this we did the 1.5 hour drive back to the ship, as we have an over night stop here we have asked Mr Steve to come back and collect us again tomorrow morning to take us on another trip out - I won't spoil the surprise of what we are doing tomorrow you'll just have to come back and read all about it ;)
The ship is pretty empty tonight as lots of passengers have stayed over in Bangkok in hotels rather than coming back to the ship, at dinner it was just Leon and me on our table most of the other tables were empty too.
The weather here is hot about 34 degrees and its humid heat like England but there is less smog and mist here.
Thailand has been a welcome relief compared to Vietnam, which just seemed backwards, a bit dirty and complete mayhem, Thailand has more of the brands we recognise like Starbucks and McDonald's, seems cleaner and more advanced into the 21st century.
A nice day out apart from the leg incident which Leon is giving me no sympathy for..... Meany.
