Day 1 - La Spezia

Hello darlings! You'll be glad to know we are on the cruise ship safe and sound, it was an early start down to gatwick leaving at 5.30am with our flight leaving at 11.30, just a short hour an half flight and we landed in Genova, Italy. We have actually been here before on our Italy and Croatia cruise last year but neither of us remembered this place.

We had a bet on our suitcases when we got off the aeroplane - whoever has their suitcase come off the carrousel first wins £1. Leon won :( but I'm thinking double or quits when we get back to Gatwick.

Nearly a 2 hour coach ride and we are down in La Spezia to board the ship. The journey was weird as most of the road was through tunnels built into the mountains.

For the first time ever we have been conned into buying an all inclusive drinks package, so we set about making good use of it, having cocktails, wine and gin & tonics :)

The ship itself is very Italian with mostly Italians and Europeans on-board, the restaurant menu echoes this which doesn't please me that much.

The weather in Genova is grey but warm.

We spent this evening in the casino learning to play ultimate Texas holdem poker which is quite a good game.

Here's a holiday first for you - daily quiz...

What does the below picture refer to?

A) A white man with a Afro
B) Half eaten record
C) Italian tunnel sign

I personally couldn't tell what the picture was for and Leon had to explain it.
