Day 5 - Valletta, Malta
Bongu from a hot and windy Malta.
Again our ship is docking into the port in the afternoon, 2pm. After a mad rush of people trying to get off the ship we are left with just 3 hours to look around before we have to be back.
We aren't overly impressed with the food on this cruise so we decided today to skip breakfast and lunch in favour of finding some tasty nosh on land.
We have to get a lift up from the dock area into the town it's the barrakka lift which costs 1 euro, you can take the stairs but I'm not fancying them today.
We have a look around the town there's some great views over the harbour, Malta is a really nice place actually- it would have been nice to have had more time to look around. We stop off for some lunch at a local restaurant Leon has a burger which is bigger than him and I order my old favourite ribs, yum. The food was amazing and a much welcome feed after the cruise food.
It's time for us to head back to the ship :( but if I ever had a euro vision song party I'd happily take Malta as my country.
As we had a late and big feed on land we aren't bothering with the ships restaurant tonight, unfortunately I can't update you on our European chums.
Leon advises me we have to stay in the casino from 10pm until midnight tonight playing on the slot machines because they are giving away prizes to the players. We are tired but play for a good 3 hours with no sight of a prize coming our way, at midnight Leon says that maybe he has the wrong day - yeah, he has the wrong day alright! It was yesterday they were giving stuff away! Numnut!
